It was all fun and games when Connecticut resident Melanie Roberts was celebrating her 50th birthday on February 15th, 2016 until things got out of hand between her and her hired limo driver.
She was arrested early Monday morning and charged with several different counts including armed robbery, larceny, breach of the peace, threatening to commit a crime and carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.
The Night The Limo Driver Won’t Forget!
Mrs. Roberts and a bunch of her friends rented a limousine to go to New York City and back to Connecticut to celebrate her 50th birthday. On the final trip home, Mrs. Roberts and the limo driver got into a heated argument regarding the final bill. It was reported that once they got close to her house, she grabbed the keys out of the ignition and ran in the house only to come out minutes later with a 9mm handgun and threatened to shoot the tires according to the limo driver.
What Goes Around Comes Around In Connecticut
Mrs. Roberts is also accused of taking a GPS tracking device as well as a clipboard with cash on it as well as her signed contract. She was arrested shortly after and the firearm was found on her at the time of arrest. Mrs. Roberts was released on a $100,000 bond.
