Maribel Martinez told New York’s Daily News that she was confused when she arrived to the famous John F. Kennedy airport to pick up her 5 year old son and the Jet Blue staff presented her with another little boy that was definitely not her son. It took hours for the staff to figure out what happened as Martinez thought the worse. It turns out that the little boy that ended up at JFK airport was actually supposed to fly into Boston. Both children were unaccompanied minors that boarded at the Dominican Republic. Martinez’s son, Andy was wearing a wristband with his name on it but the other child was carrying Andy’s passport.

The airline put Andy on a flight to return to Kennedy Airport that same day, and JetBlue refunded Martinez $475 for Andy’s return ticket and also gave the family $2,100 in credit.
