NASCAR cuts Jeff Gordon 25 points for wrecking car services with Bowyer

Four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Jeff Gordon was slapped with a $100,000 fine and docked 25 points. He was placed on probation for the rest of the season Monday due to him intentionally wrecking Clint Bowyer in Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway. Gordon has pointed out that Clint has run into him way too many times and has wrecked his car or any service connected with his racing team. Also Gordon complains on the note that Bowyer has crashed into him, and pretty much ruined his day, so Gordon felt the need to get him back.

Gordon’s reason for wrecking Bowyer’s ride

NASCAR, however, did not hit Gordon with a suspension, unlike how things happened to Kyle Busch for intentionally wrecking Ron Hornaday Jr. in the Truck Series under caution last year. Bowyer has openly said that it is pretty embarrassing for a four-time champion to act in a manner like this and that he feels it is completely ridiculous. He also said he considers Gordon one of the best this sport’s ever seen. According to Bowyer and his spotter, Gordon supposedly remained on the track to destroy him after the two of them made contact earlier, cutting down one of Gordon’s tires. When Bowyer came back around, Gordon slammed his car into the side of the No. 15 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota. Hitting Joey Logano’s car in the process and making convenient car services look like a monster bash.

Reliable car services needed even for racers

Gordon explained that his reaction was a buildup of frustration from confrontations throughout the year, beginning when Bowyer ruined him and teammate Jimmie Johnson at Martinsville. Seeing that racers need their reliable transportation services to be on point, those who “wreck” them will not hold up. The loss of points dropped Gordon to 11th in the standings. Only the top 10 in points are allowed to attend the champions’ banquet on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas. For his part, the incident left Bowyer with a 28th-place finish, eliminating him from contention for the championship with one race remaining.
