Sikorsky Memorial Airport Battle is Settled

Connecticut limousine and airport services have brought travelers to and from airports for years, including Tweed New Haven Regional Airport and Sikorsky Memorial Airport. However, it took New Haven and East Haven, CT to settle a long time fight to who owns Tweed Airport and now the same thing is happening for Sikorsky. In both cases, safety should be the number one matter but wasn’t for a while.

Runway expanded for safety at Sikorsky Memorial Airport

Stratford and Bridgeport, CT have finally consolidated their battle for Sikorsky Memorial Airport. Bridgeport is now transferring the airports ownership to Stratford and it will include 45 acres of wetlands and airport parking. Main Street in Stratford will now be expanding an extra 300 feet safety zone to the end part of the 4,667-foot runway. They needed the extra feet due to past crashes being unable to make it off the runway in time. It is important to keep the airport and its airport transportation services in mint condition, in order to keep its passengers safe.

The settlement is a great feat for both Stratford and Bridgeport, CT. Airport limousine services, among the airports
themselves, were debating if the airport would last that long if the settlement didn’t come to a close. With Stratford and Bridgeport airport services being in tact and the battles being over, Sikorsky Memorial Airport is now safer for passengers and planes. Travelers can feel at ease going to and from the airport and know they are in good hands.
