Obama helps NJ Residents Without Transportation and Power

President Obama was on the phone with the Republican governor on Monday, talking about storm damage, when he momentarily passed the line over to Springsteen as a surprise. Springsteen was traveling and using limousine and airport transportation while he was campaigning for the president. Prior to the storm Springsteen openly refused to acknowledge Christie, whose budget cuts Springsteen has disapproved of. However, in the stir of the Superstorm Sandy, which hit the Jersey Shore exceptionally hard, he has started to accept and embrace his fervent fan.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie informed reporters Monday that he had an unforeseen — and moving — discussion with his hero, Bruce Springsteen. He also received a hug from the rock legend on Friday, at a benefit concert for victims of Superstorm Sandy. Christie later cried and called the moment a best part of a tumultuous week.
