Uber Is Stirring Up Things At Newark Airport and Bus Stations

Uber has been on the rise as they have been unregulated for some time which change has been in the works…..or has it?

New Jersey Backing Off On Uber

New Jersey taxi and limousine operators certainly expressed their anger for backing off on Uber and other ride-sharing apps that refused to follow city ordinance. Newark’s director of public safety stated on February 19th that the plan to have city police begin towing and ticketing Uber drivers at the airport and Penn Station this week, for violating the city’s taxi ordinance, was on hold and under review. This decision was given without any explanation as to why. It was also stated that the Port Authority police will not take steps to deny access to these businesses.

What Others Think Of The Slack Given To Uber

Many critics have also shed light on the background checks of these companies not being adequate. Backing up this statement they used charges that were filed against an Uber driver in a mass shooting in Kalamazoo, Michigan as an example. It was said that Uber driver Jason Dalton cleared a background check and they never would have predicted that the driver would have committed such an act, killing 6 people in random shootings.

Uber continues to violate state regulations.The company stated servicing New Jersey in 2014 without permission from the state and is said to have paid more than 100 fines this past year for Uber drivers servicing Newark airport without permission. Many other companies in the car service industry are upset because of this atrocity being that they were required to spend hundreds in licensing and upkeep of these licenses.
